Schools Absent at the Fall Meeting:

                   Bremen

Discussion was held concerning the date of the Science Invitational.  Concern was expressed about the date conflicting with a Mathletes’ competition.  Some Science Club sponsors felt the conflicting date last year drastically decreased the number of students who could participate for some schools.  Brendan will check with MVCC and see if March 1st will be okay for this year’s competition. (It was not!)

Every school will be required to run an event at the Festival.

Every school is required to bring an extra adult to supervise the students when the sponsor is running their event.

The 2008 Science Invitational will be held on Saturday, February 23 at Morraine Valley Community College.

The Schedule of events are as Follows:

8:30                 Registration & Judges/Coaches Meeting

8:45                 Welcome to the Students  Instructions and announcements for students

9:00-9:40         Session I

9:50-10:30       Session II

10:40-11:20     Session III

11:30-11:50     Science Bowl Finals

12:00-12:30     Awards

There is a $75 entry fee per school.   The 12 Conference members have already paid those fees.  Additional School’s fees should be directed to Brendan Noon at Argo Community High School.

Once Brendan confirms the schools competing this year, a lottery will determine the rounds in which schools will participate in the various events.

Invitations will be sent out to TF North and South, Joliet, Crete Monee, Andrew, Stagg, and Sandburg.

Rules for events should be sent to Brendan by September 30th, so they may be posted on the website he has set up.
