I have spent the last three years working closely with scientists and educational staff from the Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory and Chicago’s Field Museum of Natural History in hopes of introducing my students to current scientific research. Having guest speakers visit a school can be burdensome and unpredictable, but live web conferencing and broadcasting offers the opportunity for scientists all over the world to give guest presentations without ever leaving their office. It is my hope to continue to build a good reputation with scientific institutions so that my students will gain better insight into actual scientific investigation.
